Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in September were $586.9 billion, down 0.4% from August but up 1.5% from the comparable period in 2023. Wood product shipments decreased 0.5% from last month and 0.7% from the prior year to $13.0 billion. Shipments of furniture and related products rose 0.3% from August and 0.8% from September 2023 to $6.9 billion.
New orders for all U.S. manufacturing were $584.2 billion in September, 0.5% lower than the prior month but unchanged from the same period last year. Furniture and related product orders totaled $6.9 billion, growing 2.0% from August and 1.6% from September 2023. See U.S. Census Bureau
