Senate Appropriations Committee Approves CPA Authored Report Language

On July 25, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved several bills to fund the federal government for fiscal year 2025, including the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (S. 4802). The bipartisan bill’s report incorporates language drafted by CPA that directs the Forest Products Laboratory to create a detailed annual accounting of carbon stored in wood products and supports the use of a “whole building” approach to environmental lifecycle assessment when assessing the benefits of wood products in the built environment. The full Senate will consider the Appropriations Committee’s bills before the FY24 fiscal deadline of September 30, 2024. See Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (S. 4802) and Report 118-201. More Info: Andy O’Hare
