Unilin announced the appointment of An Nuyttens as CEO. She will join the company in mid-October, succeeding Paul De Cock, who will become CEO of Mohawk Industries on September 30. August U.S. Consumer Confidence Dips
U.S. consumer confidence measured 89.4 in August, a decrease of 0.8 points from the adjusted July reading, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. U.S. New Home Sales Down in July
U.S. sales of new single-family homes in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 607,000, falling 10.5% from June and 6.3% below the comparable month in 2025. July U.S. Construction Spending Weakens
U.S. construction spending in July reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2.16 trillion, decreasing 0.5% from June and 3.8% year-over-year. January Canadian Manufacturing Increases
Seasonally adjusted Canadian wood product sales in January were $4.1 billion (CAD), up 6.5% from December 2021 but down 2% from the comparable month in 2021. CPA Submits Letter Regarding Modernization of the Canadian EPA
On March 7, CPA submitted a letter to the Canadian Senate regarding the recent introduction of bill S-5, Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act. Kitchen and Bath Sales Up in January
U.S. kitchen and bath cabinet sales in January were 11.7% higher than the comparable month in 2021, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s (KCMA) monthly Trend of Business member survey. Semi-custom sales increased just 0.9% from January 2021, while custom cabinetry sales jumped 19.7% over last year and stock sales grew 17.6% from 2021.
January Canadian Building Permits Fall
Canadian building permits in January dropped 8.8% from December 2021 to $10.11 billion (CAD) but were up 1% from the year-ago period.
