Home Improvement Retailers Post Mixed Results
The world’s two largest home improvement retailers published first quarter 2022 financial results. The Home Depot, Atlanta, GA, reported first quarter net sales of $38.9. billion, up 3.8% over the comparable period in 2021. March Manufacturing Up for Canada
Seasonally adjusted Canadian wood product sales in March were $4.64 billion (CAD), up 2.2% from February and rose 2.7% from the comparable month in 2021. Unilin announced the appointment of An Nuyttens as CEO. She will join the company in mid-October, succeeding Paul De Cock, who will become CEO of Mohawk Industries on September 30. U.S. sales of new single-family homes in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 607,000, falling 10.5% from June and 6.3% below the comparable month in 2025.
