October Canadian Wood Product Sales Down
Seasonally adjusted Canadian wood product sales in October were $3.55 billion (CAD), down 1.8% from September and 2.9% lower than the comparable month in 2021. Canadian Housing Starts Dip in November
The monthly standalone seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of Canadian housing starts in November was 264,159 units, 0.2% lower than in October. October Canadian Construction Investment Grows Slightly
Canadian building construction investment in October was up 0.2% from September to $20.9 billion (CAD). Residential construction spending decreased 0.1% to $15.4 billion from September, while non-residential totals were 0.9% higher in October at $5.5 billion. Seasonally adjusted single-family construction spending declined 2.3% from September to $8.2 billion, marking the most significant drop since mid-2021.

U.S. sales of new single-family homes in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 607,000, falling 10.5% from June and 6.3% below the comparable month in 2025.
