Consumer Confidence Weakens in October
U.S. consumer confidence in October registered at 102.5, decreasing 5.3 points from September, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. The index measuring current business and labor market conditions dropped 11.3 points to 138.9 in October. The short-term outlook index for income, business and the labor market shrunk 1.4 points from September to 78.1.
U.S. Home Sales Decrease in September
U.S. sales of new single-family homes in September were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 603,000, dropping 10.9% from August and 17.6% lower than the comparable month last year. The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of September was 462,000, representing a 9.2-month supply at the current sales rate.

The latest U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report by Lodging Econometrics reported that third quarter hotel projects totaled 5,317, up 10% compared to the same period in 2021.
