June Canadian Furniture and Building Sales Up
Canadian retail furniture store sales in June rose 0.5% from May to $1.221 billion (CAD) and were 2.1% higher than the same month last year. Ashley Furniture Opens Northwest Distribution Center
Ashley Furniture Industries, Arcadia, WI, has opened a new 700,000 square foot distribution and fulfillment center in Spanaway, Washington. The facility will employ more than 250 associates. Health Canada Releases Composite Wood Products Formaldehyde Rule Guidance

U.S. Home Sales Down in July
U.S. sales of new single-family homes in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 511,000, decreasing 12.6% from June and 29.6% lower than the comparable month last year. The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of July was 464,000, representing a 10.9-month supply at the current sales rate.
July Architectural Billings Maintain Growth at Lower Rate
The July Architecture Billings Index (ABI) fell 2.2 points to 51.0 according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group.
