U.S. Construction Spending Inches Upward in November
U.S. construction spending in November 2021 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.63 trillion, increasing 0.4% from October and 9.3% higher than the year prior. November U.S. Manufacturing Shipments Grow
Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in November 2021 rose 0.7% from October to $526.97 billion. Wood product shipments were up 1.7% in November to $11.66 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products fell 1.9% from October to $5.99 billion. New orders for all U.S. manufacturing increased 1.6%
Canadian Construction Investment Up in November 2021
Canadian building construction investment in November 2021 rose 1.2% from October to $18 billion (CAD). Residential construction spending increased 1.5% from October to $13.1 billion, and non-residential totals inched higher by 0.6% in November to $4.9 billion. Single-family spending went up 0.7% from October to $7.1 billion and multi-unit levels grew 2.4% to $6.0 billion
