The latest U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report by Lodging Econometrics reported fourth-quarter 2022 hotel projects totaled 5,465, up 14% compared to the same period in 2021. Canadian Retail Sales Improve Year-Over-Year
Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in November 2022 increased 0.4% from October to $1.18 billion (CAD) but were 5.9% lower than the same month in 2021. Sustainability in Manufacturing Trends Report Released
The Manufacturing Leadership Council, a subsidiary of the National Association of Manufacturers, released the results of its annual Sustainability and the Circular Economy survey of U.S. manufacturers. The 2022 trends survey reported that “the importance of sustainability commitments as essential to future competitiveness and growth” jumped to 58%, up from 38% in 2021. The report
2022 RV Shipments Record Third-Best Year
The RV Industry Association’s monthly survey of U.S. manufacturers reported December 2022 shipments reached 19,907 units, dropping 50.7% from the same month in 2021. Year-to-date shipments fell 17.8% to 493,268 compared to record-breaking 2021, marking the third-highest year. See RV Industry Association
New Home Demand Declines in Q4
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) fourth-quarter 2022 Housing Trends Report reported that new construction demand fell to 20%, down seven percentage points from the third quarter. The West saw the largest drop in demand, a decrease of ten percentage points to 21%. See NAHB
