Q2 U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Up

The latest U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report by Lodging Econometrics reported that second quarter hotel projects totaled 5,220, up 9% compared to the same period in 2021. Total hotel rooms under construction rose 4% from Q2 2021 to 621,268.  Projects in the early planning stages hit a record of 2,246 with 258,191 rooms, a 26% and 15% increase over 2021 respectively. Renovations were also at an all-time high, with projects jumping 66% to 1,889 and rooms rising 35% to 237,420 over the prior year. See U.S. Lodging Econometrics
