Q1 U.S. Remodeling Confidence Down

In the first quarter of 2025, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)/Westlake Royal Remodeling Index (RMI) reported U.S. remodeling confidence at 63, shrinking five points from Q4 2024 and three points from the same period in 2024. The current market conditions indicator fell four points from the previous quarter to 71 and was three points lower than the previous year. The future indicators index dropped six points to 55 over the fourth quarter and decreased four points from Q1 2024.

The Remodeling Market Index (RMI) is based on a quarterly survey of NAHB remodeler members, providing insight into current market conditions and future indicators for the remodeling market. A score over 50 indicates that remodelers report market activity higher than in the previous quarter. See NAHB
