First quarter 2022 U.S. wood product sales dipped 3.1% from Q4 2021 to $37.1 billion but rose 27.3% from the same period in 2021. After-tax profits soared 82.7% to $6.6 billion over the prior three months and were 31.2% higher than the first quarter in 2021.
Furniture sales were down 0.3% from Q4 to $19.6 billion but were up 8.8% from Q1 2021. After-tax profits in Q1 fell 13.4% to $954 million and were 17.4% lower than the same quarter in 2021. See U.S. Census
