On April 2, President Trump released details associated with the administration’s global tariff plan. Most importantly, Canada and Mexico are not included in the newly announced plan. All goods imported from Canada and Mexico into the U.S. that comply with the USMCA trade agreement will continue to be exempt from import tariffs, including composite wood panels and related compliant products.
The plan imposes 10% tariffs on goods imported into the U.S. from most of the world’s remaining countries. An additional reciprocal tariff will be imposed on dozens of countries with the largest trade imbalances with the U.S.
The plan goes into effect within the next week. Additional details are provided on the White House fact sheet. See Fact Sheet
