U.S. residential furniture factory orders in October 2024 were $2.32 billion, down 1.5% from the comparable month in 2023 and 0.3% lower than September. New orders through October 2024 decreased 1.4% compared to the first ten months of 2023.
Furniture shipments increased 1.7% from September 2024 but declined 4.2% from October 2023 to $2.21 billion. Backlogs were $2.44 billion, shrinking 0.6% from the prior month and 8.5% from October 2023. See Smith Leonard
