U.S. housing starts in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.29 million, decreasing 1.8% from October and 14.6% lower than the comparable month last year. Single-family starts increased 6.4% to 1.01 million in November.
U.S. building permits were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.51 million, growing 6.1% from October but dipping 0.2% from November 2023. Single-family authorizations rose 0.1% from October to 972,000. See U.S. Census Bureau
