U.S. residential furniture factory orders in November 2024 were $2.40 billion, declining 9% from the comparable month in 2023 but 5% higher than October. New orders through November 2024 decreased 1% compared to the first eleven months of 2023.
Furniture shipments mainly were unchanged from October 2024 but down 1% from November 2023 to $2.18 billion. Year-to-date shipments through November 2024 fell 7% compared to 2023. Backlogs were $2.49 billion, growing 1% from the prior month but 10% lower than November 2023. See Smith Leonard
