The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) dipped 0.7 points to 49.6 in November 2024, while design contracts improved three points to 48.3, marking the eighth straight month of declines. November billings exceeded 50 in all areas except the commercial/industrial sector. Firms in the south and the west reported progress with an index above 50, while the midwest and northeast were below 50. A score above 50 indicates growth. See AIA
