U.S. Updates Guidance on Essential Businesses

CPA members are encouraged to review the latest government guidance on essential businesses as state and local governments consider shutdowns to combat recent COVID-19 surges. In March, the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) division, issued a guidance document designating which industries were essential during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Agency released a number of updates in the following months, most recently in August.  CPA members continue to be designated as essential under the categories of “Critical Manufacturing” and/or “Chemical.”  See CISA
