Canadian Construction Investment Sees Record Drop in April

Total investment in Canadian building construction in April was $8.4 billion (CAD), plummeting 45.9% from March, a record decline since the current series began in 2010. Residential construction fell 49.2% from March to $4.2 billion, and non-residential totals fell 38.8% to $2.8 billion in April. Single-family spending was 54.7% lower at $1.6 billion, while multi-unit dwellings declined by 43.5% to $2.6 billion. See Statistics Canada
