U.S. Consumer Confidence Increases in May

U.S. consumer confidence in May registered at 86.6, rising 1.0% from April, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. The index measuring current business and labor market conditions decreased from 73.9 in April to 71.1 in May, but the short-term outlook for income, business and labor market rose from 94.3 last month to 96.9.
