Mexico Manufacturing Down in March

The IHS Markit Mexico Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was 46.9 in March, down 3.4 points from February, the sharpest decline in three months. New orders fell at the sharpest rate since data collections started in 2011, leading to reductions in staff and purchasing declines. A reading above 50 indicates growth.

The PMI index is composed of five sub-indices tracking changes in new orders, output, employment, suppliers' delivery times and stocks of raw materials. See IHS Markit
