U.S. Construction Spending Rises in January
U.S. construction spending in January was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.4 trillion, rising 1.8% from December 2019 and 6.8% higher than the year-ago period. Private construction spending increased 1.5% from December to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.0 trillion. Residential levels for January were up 2.1% from the previous month to $554.8 billion, and non-residential totals rose 0.8% from December to $468.0 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
