U.S. Construction Spending Slightly Down

U.S. construction spending in December 2019 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.328 trillion, falling 0.2% from November but 5.0% higher than the year-ago period.  Private construction spending decreased 0.1% from November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $991.2 billion.  Residential levels were up 1.4% from the previous month to $540.7 billion, and non-residential totals fell 1.8% from November to $450.5 billion in December.  See U.S. Census Bureau
