Number of Bedrooms in New Single-Family Home Decreasing

The number of bedrooms in new single-family homes has been declining since 2015, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Survey of Construction. The number of single-family homes with four or more bedrooms in 2018 declined 1.3% over 2017. This decrease mirrors the downward trend in single-family home square footage. See NAHB
