U.S. Construction Spending Falls

U.S. construction spending in October was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.29 trillion, falling 0.8% from September but 1.1% higher than the same period a year ago.  Private construction spending decreased 1.0% from September to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $956.3 billion.  Residential levels dipped 0.9% from the previous month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $508.2 billion, and non-residential totals decreased 1.2% from September to $448.1 billion year-to-date.
