U.S. Furniture Orders

U.S. furniture factory orders in September were up 7% from the same month in 2018, according to Smith Leonard’s survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors.  New orders increased for 64% of survey participants.  Year-to-date new orders dropped 1% from the comparable period in 2018, a decrease for 70% of participants.

Shipments rose 6% from September 2018, representing an increase of 55% for those surveyed.  Year-to-date shipments were even with the year-ago period, however 58% of respondents still noted a decrease.  See Smith Leonard
