U.S. Construction Spending Increases Slightly in September
U.S. construction spending in September was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.29 billion, rising 0.5% from August but 2.0% lower than the year-ago period. Year-to-date spending was down 2.2% from 2018 to $968.7 billion.
Private construction spending increased 0.2% from August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $961.7 billion. Residential levels were up 0.6% from the previous month to $511.4 billion, and non-residential totals decreased 0.3% from August to $450.3 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
