US Manufacturing Shipments Nearly Unchanged in August

Total manufacturing shipments for all U.S. durable goods industries in August increased 0.1% from July to $253.9 billion. U.S. wood product manufacturing shipments were $9.2 billion, an increase of 1.6% over the month prior. August shipments of furniture and related products fell 2.2% from July to $6.69 billion.

New durable goods orders for all U.S. manufacturing in August were $250.7 billion, rising 0.2% from the month prior. Furniture and related product orders fell 1.7% from July to $6.76 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
