U.S. Construction Spending Dips

U.S. construction spending in June totaled a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.29 trillion, down 1.3% from May and off 2.1% from the year-ago period.  Year-to-date spending was 0.5% lower than 2018 at $615.8 billion. 

Private construction spending dipped 0.4% to $962.9 billion, with residential levels declining 0.5% to $507.2 billion and nonresidential totals down 0.3% to $455.7.  See U.S. Census Bureau
