U.S. Housing Starts Dip

U.S. housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.25 million, dipping 0.9% below May, but was 6.2% higher than the comparable month in 2018. Single‐family starts were up 3.5% in June to 847,000 over May.

U.S. building permits in June totaled a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.22 million, falling 6.1% from May and down 6.6% from the year-ago period. Single‐family levels inched upward from May by 0.4% to 813,000.  See U.S. Census Bureau
