U.S. Construction Spending Decreases

U.S. construction spending in March was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.28 trillion, down 0.9% from the revised February estimate and 0.8% from the comparable month last year.  Private construction spending fell 0.7% from February to $961.5 billion.  Residential levels decreased 1.8% from the previous month to $500.9 billion, while non-residential totals grew 0.5% to $460.6 billion.
