U.S. Builder Confidence Up in April

U.S. builder confidence in the market for new homes in April increased 1 point to 63 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).  Two of the three major HMI components were higher in April. The current sales conditions index increased 1 point to 69.  The metric charting buyer traffic rose 3 points to 47, however the component gauging expectations in the next six months fell 1 point to 71.
