Modern Cabinet Styles Dominate Spring Design Shows

Woodworking Network reported that clean, modern style cabinets dominated the recent Kitchen & Bath Industry and the International Builder Shows. Frameless cabinets again reigned for the second year in a row, with 40% of the displays. Paint and laminate finishes were more prevalent than stained cabinets, with white as the top color.

Laminates of all types accounted for 44% of all countertop displays at the shows, compared to only 20% last year. Textured laminate was the new trend, appearing in both casework and countertops.

Woodworking Network surveyed 42 companies, viewed 167 kitchen cabinet displays, and interviewed marketing and design professionals to compile their findings on kitchen cabinet and countertop trends. See Woodworking Network
