Architecture Billings Down in February

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) reported a decrease in architectural billings’ growth in February. AIA’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI), measuring non-residential construction activity, scored 50.3 in February compared to 55.3 in January. Mixed-practice firms (those with less than 50% of billings devoted to one type of construction sector) reported the highest average ABI score, while commercial /industrial firms scored the highest for single-sector firms at 53.9. Growth was strongest in the South, with all other regions reporting modest gains.

Scores higher than 50 represent growth in non-residential construction billings at architecture firms.  See American Institute of Architects
