U.S. Construction Spending Up
U.S. construction spending in November 2018 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.3 trillion, up 0.8% from October and 3.4% from the comparable month last year. Year-to-date spending rose 4.5% above the year-ago period in 2017 to $1.2 trillion.
Private construction spending grew 1.3% from October to $993 billion. Residential levels rose 3.5% in November to $543 billion, and non-residential totals were down 1.2% from October to $451 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
