Mexico Manufacturing Up in December
The IHS Markit Mexico Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was 50.9 in January, up from 49.7 in December, due to an increase in orders and employment. A reading above 50 indicates growth. Production decreased slightly in January, while delivery times lengthened due to Mexico’s gas crisis.
The PMI index is composed of five sub-indexes tracking changes in new orders, output, employment, suppliers' delivery times and stocks of raw materials. See IHS Markit
