Canadian Housing Permits Rise

Canadian building permits in November totaled $8.3 billion, rising 2.6% from October and up 6.6% from the comparable month in 2017. Residential authorizations decreased 2.5% from October to $5 billion but were 3.8% higher than November 2017.  Single-family homes fell 5.5% in November to $2.2 billion and were down 16.4% from the same period last year.  Non-residential building permits increased 11.6% to $3.3 billion in November and 11.4% from the year prior.  See Statistics Canada
