Canadian Residential Construction Investment Increases

New residential construction investment in the second quarter of 2018 totaled $36 billion, up 7.8% from the same quarter a year earlier.  Single-family investment decreased 4.4% year-over-year to $7.1 billion in the second quarter.  Apartment buildings increased 26.7% to $5.8 billion and row houses rose 8% to $1.5 billion compared to the second quarter of 2017.  See Statistics Canada
