U.S. Consumer Sentiment Falls in July

The U.S. consumer sentiment index for July was 97.9, falling 0.3% from June, according to the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers. Consumer sentiment increased 4.8% compared to July 2017. The index measuring current economic conditions fell 1.8% from June to 114.4 but was up 0.9% from July 2017. Consumer expectations in July experienced an increase of 1.2% from the previous month to 87.3 and rose 8.4% in a year-over-year comparison. See University of Michigan
