U.S. Housing Starts Fall in June

U.S. housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.2 million, down 12.3% from the revised May estimate and 4.2% below the comparable month last year. Single-family housing starts rose 9.1% from May to 858,000 in June.

U.S. building permits in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.3 million, 2.2% below May and down 3% from the same month in 2017. Single-family authorizations rose 0.8% above the month prior to 843,000.  See U.S. Census Bureau
