CPA Meets with Health Canada on Formaldehyde Regulation

CPA’s Jackson Morrill and Donald Bisson and Impact Public Affairs’ Christian von Donat met yesterday with Health Canada officials to review progress on the development of the national formaldehyde emissions for composite wood regulation and discuss opportunities to strengthen enforcement measures.  Health Canada officials indicated that they remained confident that a draft will be issued for comment during the fourth quarter this year for what will likely be a 75-day comment period.  The agency also indicated that they were in the process of developing the enforcement plan, and that CPA’s suggested measures to strengthen enforcement were timely and would be considered.  CPA will continue to monitor progress closely over the summer.  More Info: Donald Bisson
