Consumer Sentiment Up in June

Preliminary June data shows the U.S. consumer sentiment index was 99.3, up 1.3% from May and 4.5% higher compared to the same period one year-ago, according to the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers. The index measuring current economic conditions rose 5.5% from May to 117.9 and was up 4.9% from June 2017. Consumer expectations in June fell 1.9% from the previous month to 87.4 but increased 4.3% in a year-over-year comparison. See University of Michigan
