U.S. Housing Starts Decline in April
U.S. housing starts in April were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.29 million, down 3.7% from the revised March estimate and 10.5% above the comparable month last year. Single-family housing starts rose 0.1% from March to 894,000.
U.S. building permits in April were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.35 million, falling 1.8% below March and 7.7% higher than the same month in 2017. Single-family authorizations rose 0.9% above March to 859,000. See U.S. Census Bureau
