U.S. Housing Starts Up in March

U.S. housing starts in March were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.32 million, up 1.9% from the revised February estimate and 10.9% above the comparable month last year. Single-family housing starts decreased 3.7% from February to 867,000.

U.S. building permits in March were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.35 million, 2.5% higher than February and up 7.5% from the same month in 2017. Single-family authorizations fell 5.5% from October to 840,000.  See U.S. Census Bureau
