U.S. Construction Spending Rises in February

U.S. construction spending during February was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.27 trillion, rising 0.1% from January and 3% higher than the comparable month in 2017. Year-to-date spending was up 4.4% from 2017 at an annual rate of $176 billion.

Private construction spending rose 0.7% from January to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $982 billion. Residential levels were up 0.1% from the previous month to $533 billion and non-residential totals increased 1.5% from January to $449 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
