CPA Spring Meeting Keynote Speakers & Revised Schedule Announced
CPA is pleased to announce two keynote presentations for the 2018 Spring Meeting, April 22-25, at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria. On April 23, Frank Goecke, Senior Principal at Pöyry Management Consulting, will provide an in-depth economic analysis of the evolving North American composite panel industry, including an examination of the “integrated model” of panel manufacturing. On April 24, Michael Steep, Executive Director, Stanford Engineering Center for Disruptive Technology and Digital Cities, will deliver a presentation, titled “How to Get Ahead of Disruptive Technology Now,” on leveraging new technology to advance innovative ideas in manufacturing. Steep advises clients including Airbus, BMW and Google and is a contributing editor to Forbes.
The meeting begins on Sunday with the annual golf tournament at Olympic View Golf Club followed by the Welcome Reception that evening. The meeting schedule has been revised, moving the CPA Board meeting to Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday night’s Chairman’s dinner will close the meeting with no additional events planned for Wednesday. The Fairmont is located on Victoria’s Inner Harbor, steps away from Victoria’s downtown district. CPA’s room rate is $239 CDN/night for a “Fairmont” room and $269 CDN/night for “Deluxe.” The rate is available until March 28 or until the room block is full, whichever comes first.
The hotel is accessible by ferry from Seattle and Vancouver and through several direct flights to Victoria International Airport (Sydney, BC). The airport is a 35-minute drive from the Fairmont.
