U.S. Home Sales Rise in 2017

U.S. sales of new single-family homes in December 2017 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 625,000, falling 9.3% from November but 14.1% above the same period in 2016.  In 2017, home sales were 8.3% higher than 2016 at 608,000. 

The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of December was 295,000, representing a 5.7 month supply at the current sales rate.  See U.S. Census Bureau
