Houzz 2018 Kitchen Trend Study Released

Houzz, a social media platform for home remodeling and design, released their 2018 Kitchen Trends Study that surveyed over 1,700 U.S. homeowners who are planning, in the process of, or have recently completed a kitchen renovation. The most popular renovation styles for homeowners are transitional at 25% and contemporary representing 17% of projects. Fifty-three percent of respondents prefer “wood or wood-like materials” for flooring, with the choice of “engineered wood or laminate flooring” growing an average of 21.3% since 2016. White finishes continue to be popular for kitchen projects, increasing 6% in countertops, backsplashes and wall finishes over 2017.  Custom cabinetry is the most popular at 40%, with shaker style up 2% to 57% over the past year.  See Houzz
