U.S. Construction Spending Increases

U.S. construction spending during October was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.24 trillion, rising 1.4% from September and 2.9% higher than one year ago. Year-to-date spending was up 4.1% from 2016 at an annual rate of $1.03 trillion.

Private construction spending rose 0.6% from September to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $950 billion. Residential levels were up 0.4% from the previous month to $517.7 billion and non-residential totals increased 0.9% from September to $432.2 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
