Final Canadian Softwood Lumber Duties Issued

The U.S. Department of Commerce on November 2 released its final finding regarding Canadian softwood lumber duties that range between 9.92% and 22.13%.  The majority of Canadian producers are subject to a combined rate of 20.83%, down from the preliminary determination of 26.75% in April 2017. The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to make a final injury ruling on December 18.

The U.S. imported an estimated $5.66 billion worth of Canadian lumber in 2016, according to the federal government.  See The Washington Post
